Day trip Halsnæs
Ågabet Outdoor Center
Danish
The tour starts in Ågabet at Arresødal, this is the name of the small canal and the old fishing village, which has now been converted into a Visitor Center on Denmark's largest lake, Arresø.
At Ågabet Outdoor Center, over a cup of coffee, you will be handed your bikes and cards and we will review the day's experiences with you.
The first leg of the tour goes through Arresødal and further down through Frederiksværk town and along Roskilde Fjord to Thorup Marked, which is a market for local food. Here you have time on your own before touring the Dyssekilde Ecosamfund. This is Denmark's oldest ecological village, and here more than 200 people live in the 90 peculiar dwellings.
After the tour, the tour continues along cozy country roads through Tømmerup Village to Hundested, where lunch is enjoyed at Knud - Spisehus.
From here, the tour goes via Knud Rasmussen's House and idyllic Kikhavn, to the cozy visitor farm Tothaven, known for their fine goat cheese and delicious ice cream, made with goat's milk. Coffee and ice cream are served here.
The rest of the trip goes along the north coast to Liseleje, where we recommend a swim stop before the tour ends at Ågabet.
